From Ken & Shellane Chandler, grandparents of Bailey Knight:
Kim and Jeff have good medical insurance, but we suspect the
copays alone are going to be extensive. Not to mention all the time off work Kim and Jeff will be taking to stay here with her. She
is expected to be here for at least a week and a half not including the time she has already been here. I suspect that an 18 hour
surgery is not going to come cheap. Kim works as an independent contractor and can take off as much time as she needs to, but she
does not get paid for any of it. Jeff can get family leave time, but again does not get paid for it. Unfortunately, the bills don't
take time off.
I was thinking that when a lot of people all do a little, it can equal phenomenal results. So if you have an extra few
dollars that you could spare, we have set up a donation fund for them to help with all the astronomical costs they are going to have.
A little bit from a lot of people can make a huge difference!
We have a couple of ways you can donate. We also have set up a donation
account at the First Community Credit Union in Plainwell. Their address is: 825 M-89, Plainwell, MI 49080 Put in a note that it is
for the “Bailey Knight Donation Fund” and the credit union will deposit it into their account.
You can also send money to their PayPal
account. If you do not have a PayPal account you can set one up for free at www.paypal.com Once you log in, click on “Send Money”.
In the “To” box you will put their email address which is kyltay@yahoo.com. Enter the amount you want to donate and then click on
the “Personal” tab. It should default at the “gift” setting. Click “continue” and follow the prompts from there.
The entire family
is so grateful for all the support you all have given us!!
Ken and Shellane
As you know, young Bailey Knight, granddaughter of Ken & Shellane Chandler, was injured during a sledding accident recently.
Her injuries were significant and required long surgery at the University of Michigan Medical Center in Ann Arbor. While Bailey's
parents have good health insurance coverage, that coverage will not likely cover all of their expenses. Accounts have been
set up so that those who wish to donate to off-set some of those extra expenses may do so. Below is a letter from Ken &
Shellane Chandler explaining the options available.
We hope you will take this opportunity to help the Knight family in any way
you can. It is moments like these where having a caring community is so vitally important.
Thank you.
